A frontrunner site for due diligence pilots

EU rules are reshaping coffee supply chains. Kawa Tamu is built for compliance from day one and tests the practices that make it work on a commercial farm.

The HREDD gap we address

Three sector blind spots, and how Kawa Tamu answers each

Commercial reality

Social support measures are adopted only where they are commercially viable. Kawa Tamu records the full cost and benefit of each practice, creating the transparency needed to understand what drives adoption at sector level.

EU regulatory needs

HREDD requirements under the EUDR and CSDDD are reshaping coffee supply chains and create compliance risks for importers. Kawa Tamu is built for compliance from day one, securing continued access to premium EU markets and leading by example.

Need for proven practices

Mid-sized commercial farms in Uganda have multiplied since the global price rise, but they largely depend on cheap, unskilled labour. Kawa Tamu explores, defines and fine-tunes compliance practices that protect workers and nearby communities.

The problem

The CSDDD and EUDR raise the bar on human rights at production sites. Yet Uganda's fast-growing commercial farms expose workers to health, safety and contractual risks with minimal protections in place.

Our offer

Kawa Tamu acts as a frontrunner site to pilot new HREDD concepts with a real workforce, then feeds the findings back to sector platforms: the Uganda Coffee Platform, the EUDR Task Force and partner programmes shaping industry standards.
